Week One: Consecration to Mary

Consecration to Mary of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest
Apostolates in the Bay Area, California, USA

Five week preparation for the total Consecration to Mary according to
St. Louis de Montfort's True Devotion

"One day, through the Rosary and the Scapular I will save the world"
Our Lady to St. Dominic

St. Louis de Montfort recommended a 33 day preparation for the consecration to Mary (adding, however, that this may be lengthened or shortened at will) by the means of meditations and spiritual readings.

The first week is spent in recognizing and rejecting the Spirit of the World, the second week in Knowing oneself, the third in Knowing Mary, the fourth week in Knowing Jesus. The fifth and final week is devoted to Final Preparations for the Consecration.

The Consecration will take place at St. Margaret Mary on December 8th, the feast of the Immaculate Conception, and at Our Mother of Perpetual Help Chapel in Santa Clara on the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of the Americas, on December 12th.

Week One
During the first week, we are encouraged to look around and see what exactly constitutes the Spirit of the World so as to develop both awareness and revulsion for a spirit so radically opposed to the Spirit of Christ.

Recommended prayers for Week One: Veni Creator and Ave Maria Stella.

Meditation and Selected Readings (about 1 hour a day, including Examination of Conscience and taking resolutions):

Day 1: Holy Gospel according to St. Matthew Chapters 5 -7.
