Napa 2012 Pontifical Solemn Mass (EF) at the Faldstool

Below are photos from the Pontifical Solemn Mass in the Extraordinary Form at the Faldstool with the recently-appointed San Francisco Archbishop-elect Salvatore Cordileone. The Pontifical Mass was offered on the last day of the Napa Institute's Annual Conference "Equipping Catholics in the Next America" held last July 29, 2012, at the Estate Cave, The Meritage Resort in Napa (CA). This marks the 2nd time His Grace has celebrated a Pontifical Mass for the conference (see last year's post). His Excellency, Bishop Robert Morlino (Madison, WI), sat in choir. The Pacific Collegium sang at the mass.

2012 Ordinations at Florence, Italy

Update [7/31/12]: More photos of the ordination can be viewed here, as well as an excellent video

This week at the beautiful church of Sts. Michael and Gaetano in Florence, Italy, five seminarians from the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest were ordained to the priesthood by Raymond Cardinal Burke. There were also five others who were ordained deacons, and another ten were ordained subdeacons.

Abbe Francis Altiere (leftmost), Abbe Andrew Todd (third from left), and Abbe Joel Estrada (rightmost) were seminarians who had served at the Institute apostolate of St. Margaret Mary's in Oakland, CA. Let us remember the newly ordained priests, deacons, and subdeacons in our prayers!

2012 Corpus Christi / Visit of Msgr. Wach

As the saying goes, better late than never. So here are the photos (and video) taken from last month's Solemn High Mass of Corpus Christi, celebrated as an External Solemnity last June 10, 2012, with none other than Msgr. Gilles Wach, the Prior General and Founder of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest. Come to think of it, this blog started 3 years ago, when he also came to St. Margaret Mary's. No idea how fast those 3 years went by! Three children also got the opportunity to have their First Holy Communion that day. Things were pretty much going smoothly, that is, until the procession of the Blessed Sacrament, where, an unexpected surprise occurred (flames of Pentecost appearing on Corpus Christi?).   Afterwards, there was a special reception in honor of Msgr. Wach that took place at the Father Kozina Hall. The celebration was also for Canon Avis, who celebrated his 5th anniversary of his priestly ordination five days later.

Flames of Pentecost!
The accident was eventually taken cared of afterwards...
