EWTN Special Presentation video: Solemn Pontifical Mass in the EF last July

I was just informed that the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN) has posted on youtube the Solemn Pontifical Mass (in the Extraordinary Form) that Archbishop-designate Salvatore Cordileone of San Francisco celebrated last July for the Napa Institute's conference titled "Equipping Catholics in the Next America" at the Estate Cave, The Meritage Resort & Spa in Napa (CA). See previous post regarding this event.

A priest's first public celebration of the Traditional Latin Mass

On September 13, 2012, Fr. Jeffrey Keyes, C.PP.S., Pastor of St. Edward Catholic Church in Newark, (California, USA), celebrated his 1st public Traditional Latin Mass (Low Mass), using the Votive Mass of the Holy Cross. It was a pretty good timing indeed, considering he celebrated it on the eve of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, which also marks the implementation anniversary of the Holy Father's Motu Proprio Summorum Pontificum. I was told that he studied the Traditional Mass (rubrics, movements, and all that) in a span of three months. Since then, he has started celebrating it weekly (Thursdays, 5pm). This makes his parish (St. Edward Church) the 3rd parish in the Diocese of Oakland (aside from St. Margaret Mary's and Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Brentwood, CA) to have a weekly Traditional Latin Mass. Kudos to Father Jeffrey Keyes and we hope more priests would follow!

International Pilgrim Virgin Statue of our Lady of Fatima in Oakland!

Early this month, my family got a chance to venerate the International Pilgrim Virgin Statue of our Lady of Fatima when we went to St. Callistus Church in El Sobrante, CA (which is under the Diocese of Oakland). There was a brief procession outside the church, accompanied by the Knights of Columbus Honor Guards in full regalia, before the image was ushered into the church for a concelebrated mass.

My 2-year old son, Paul Benedict, in awe at our Lady?

 Jam-packed church!

The pic of my son, Paul Benedict, above on the left who seems to practice the elevation of the chalice. This photo was actually taken at a restaurant, after we visited our Lady. Perhaps a foretelling of his future? :)
